The Welsh Organic Scheme

The Welsh Organic Scheme

The Welsh Organic Scheme was established by Welsh Lamb and Beef Producers Ltd. (WLBP) who are involved in the promotion and marketing of branded Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef in markets at home and abroad.

Organic Certification

To be recognised as an Organic Farmer or Processor and market your product as organic, you will need to register with a DEFRA recognised Control Body such as Quality Welsh Food Certification Ltd. Anyone selling products as organic that are not Certified by a recognised Organic Control Body is breaking the law and could be liable for prosecution

To convert to Organic production, you will need to plan carefully. The process need not be onerous, and QWFC will help you through the Conversion & Certification process as efficiently as possible

Before you begin the Conversion process, you might want to obtain information from organisations who specialise in organic production.
